Our General English course helps you develop the skills you need to communicate confidently in everyday situations. You will practise speaking, listening, reading, and writing while improving your language through meaningful communication and real-life contexts.
Whether you want to travel, connect with people from around the world, or work towards academic or professional goals, this course provides a strong foundation. It can also support your studies alongside more specialised courses such as IELTS preparation or Business English.

Many people say English is a difficult language to learn, particularly with all the exceptions to the rules. At ES World London – we want to make this easier for you. We don’t focus only on the rules – we practise the language in real communicative exercises in class. We also provide plenty of opportunities to practise with your new friends outside the class in our social programme.
Every student is unique and learns at their own speed. We want all students to learn in the sweet spot – between easy and too difficult. We want you to study at the correct level to challenge you and help you progress. If you or your teacher feel that the level of challenge is not correct, we will talk to you to make the best choice for your studies. This might mean moving to another level, changing something in your class or how you study.
As you improve your English, you can join more courses. Talk to your teacher or someone in the office to understand what options you have to help you achieve your goals. It is not always possible to do the course you want, but we will always give you professional advice to move closer to your target.
When you enrol with ES World London (the word “campus” is everywhere), you will be asked to complete a placement test on your student portal. This test will help us put you in the correct class to start your journey. Sometimes your test will be easier or more difficult than the class – this is normal. We will put you in the best class to challenge you and help you progress.
